WhatsApp stop sharing consumer data with Facebook in Europe
Facebook and WhatsApp data sharing
Facebook has temporarily stopped collecting WhatsApp user data for advertising across Europe due to pressure from privacy watchdogs. Under the changes to WhatsApp's data collection policies that were announced in August 2016, Facebook was able to see the phone number people have associated with their WhatsApp account.
