In Germany, the startup, WelectGo, offers free train and bus tickets to commuters in exchange for watching ads on their phone and their data.
To avail of this offer, which is currently operating in Düsseldorf, the user downloads the app and watches four 20-second ad spots. A train or bus ticket is then sent directly to their device.
